Hi, I’m Risa Wood.

I grew up in Japan, where I learned to pay close attention to details and to always do what I say I’ll do. I studied law, business, and accounting there and at Central Washington University here in Ellensburg. I bring that same care to every set of books I touch.

I’ve always wanted to build something of my own, so I have a lot of respect for the people I work with. Running a business or a nonprofit means doing ten jobs at once, and the books are usually the one that gets pushed to the bottom of the pile. That’s where I come in.

No two businesses run the same way, so I take the time to learn how yours works before I suggest anything. The moment I enjoy most is when a client looks at their monthly report and finally understands where their money is going.

I work with all kinds of small businesses, but nonprofits are my favorite. Restricted funds, grant reporting, and board reports call for a different kind of bookkeeping, and I love getting it right for organizations doing good work in our community.

I’m also a parent with a busy household, so I know how little spare time there is. If I can give you a few hours back each month, I’ve done my job.
